As a Senior System Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive view of projects and all related components within our ecosystem of digital solutions and products. This role involves requirement gathering, selecting technical solutions, breaking down requirements, managing technical work for solution implementation, and verifying that requirements are met. The System Engineer collaborates closely with various stakeholders, including Product Management, software, hardware, electronics, mechanical design, and industrial design teams, ensuring continuous alignment across these areas. This cross-functional collaboration is crucial for understanding organizational challenges and translating them into detailed system requirements. The System Engineer plays an active role from the concept phase through all system disciplines (e.g., software, hardware, mechanical) to guide teams toward optimal solutions, which form the basis for system requirements used in implementation and verification. Although governance is required throughout the entire project lifecycle, the primary focus is on the early phases.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the primary interface with Product Management, Team Leaders, UX Designers, System Test Engineers, System Test, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Gather and compile platform and system requirements from Product Management, Regulatory, Marketing, R&D, Test & Verification.
• Develop, communicate, and maintain a holistic system design approach.
• Establish and manage platform and system requirements and specifications.
• Develop, communicate, and maintain interface specifications.
• Effectively communicate system requirements to all relevant parties.
• Understand and address all major technical issues within specific projects.
• Identify and engage with all stakeholders involved in projects.
• Collaborate closely with R&D and Product Management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Take an active role during the concept phase across all system disciplines (e.g., software, UX, hardware, mechanics, testing, and product management).
• Define system requirements based on market needs and concept studies.
• Create, structure, document, maintain, and communicate comprehensive system requirements.
• Coordinate and distribute technical queries and responses to engineering teams or other relevant parties.
• Provide guidance to engineering teams for resolving technical challenges and ensuring successful project completion.
• Actively participate in the Change Control Board (CCB) to inform and manage potential impacts on system requirements.

SENIOR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead initiatives to improve processes and advocate for change to benefit the team and the organization.
• Embrace continuous development by adopting best practices both within and outside the company and integrating them into daily work.
• Educate and mentor colleagues.
• Take charge of high-priority and high-visibility projects.
• Provide time estimates for tasks related to planned projects.
• Develop system requirements for OEM projects.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Extend experience working as a system engineer or system architect in the area between embedded software and electronics. Experience of connectivity and digital solutions/apps is also an advantage.

• At least 5 years of experience in system engineering

• Experience of IoT/connected devices

• Experience of system engineering tools and processes

• International work experience is valuable.

• Fluent in English.
